Extra Credit:

Three SHS students arrived in Atlanta the evening before a special 1-day seminar. The hotel they went to had only 1 room vacant, but the night clerk said the room had 2 single beds and a cot so they could all share the 1 room for $30 for 1 night. Each of the 3 students paid $10 and they went up to the room.

A short while later, the clerk realized that the nightly rate for that particular room should have been less because it was slightly smaller than the other rooms. The clerk called for the bell hop; and gave the bell hop five One-Dollar bills with instructions to return the money to the 3 students.

On the way up to the room, the bell hop decided to pocket 2 of the 5 One-Dollar bills; and refunded 1 dollar to each of the 3 students. Doing the math, this of course meant that after this refund, each of the 3 students had paid a total of $9 each for the room.

Ok, so the 3 students originally paid $30, but after the refund, they each paid $9 which totals $27, and if you add the $2 that the bell hop pocketed, you get a total of $29 - What happened to the other dollar ??
